KCS Online

General Overview:
Kings Christian School desires to help families provide their children a Christian Education. At the same time we recognize that conventional school does not fit the needs of everyone. Our home school and independent study programs currently offer chronological and financial flexibility. We have recently added a new option for families: the KCS online classes and diploma program.
Most importantly, our online classes provide the same Christian integration and Biblical worldview as our onsite classes.
Additionally, we can now offer some classes online that we did not have the resources to offer in the past. The format of the classes is based upon a proven system for online schooling. The classes include reading, videos, simulations, demonstrations and interaction with other students from around the world as well as with the teacher. Course offerings include AP, honors and dual credit courses (where high school and college credit are earned simultaneously). Our online courses are approved by the appropriate agencies (i.e. College Board, California University a-g list system, etc.) as necessary for their designation (i.e. Advance Placement, Honors, etc.)

Plus, our WASC and ACSI accreditation includes the online program. Should you choose to complete the online diploma program, you will receive a transcript and diploma that reflects completion and graduation from an accredited school.

KCS Online provides a viable option for:
   * Home School/Independent Study students needing Advanced Courses
   * Traditional Students with scheduling conflicts
   * Students needing additional credit or to repeat a course to meet graduation requirements
   * Students who need flexibility in their schedule for performing arts
   * Disabled students who are unable to attend traditional schools
   * Students who cannot be on campus due to disciplinary action
   * Students in military families who will be transferring frequently
   * International Students wanting a diploma from an accredited American School

Policy for online students
   1. Online Diploma students must take all courses required to comply with the KCS level of diploma desired to obtain that diploma.
       See the KCHS course catalog.
   2. Students who desire to enroll into the KCS Online diploma program must provide transcripts from previous schools, if any.
Parents of high school level home school students who have not been in the KCS Home School/Independent Study
program must provide complete records of high school classes completed to the KCS Registrar.
   3. Online students may take particular classes on-campus, but additional agreement forms and tuition fees will be required.
   4. Online students may participate in KCHS activities, such as athletics, fine arts and social events, but additional agreement
forms and class/activity fees may be required.

Policy for on-campus students taking online classes:
   1. Generally, KCS students must take equivalent classes offered on campus rather than the equivalent online course, if available
       to them.
   2. On-campus students must obtain permission from the Registrar/Principal to take online classes that are to be applied to credit
towards a diploma. Typically allowed reasons include schedule conflicts, courses desired/needed not offered on campus and
       the need to makeup units.
   3. The Registrar/Principal shall also determine whether the cost of the online course will be included in the standard tuition or
       require additional billing.
